Ensure Compact is a 125 mL, ready-to-drink, complete, balanced oral nutritional supplement for people with, or at risk of developing, disease-related malnutrition. Its small volume has been specially developed for people who have difficulty drinking larger volumes or who have a poor appetite. In an easy-to-open bottle, each Ensure Compact drink provides 300 kcal (2.4 kcal/mL) and 12.8 g of protein.(1)


Who is Ensure Compact suitable for?


Ensure Compact has been developed for adults who:

  • Have or at risk of disease-related malnutrition
  • Require fluid or volume restriction
  • Have poor volume tolerance
  • Are recovering from surgery, injury and/or illness (1)

Use Ensure Compact as a sole source of nutrition or with or between meals. The recommended intake is 1-2 bottles per day. It is also suitable for tube feeding, Vanilla flavour is preferred.

How much protein is in Ensure Compact?


Each serving of Ensure Compact contains 12.8 g of protein. This is 28% of the recommended dietary intake (RDI) for women aged between 19–70 years and 20% RDI for men aged between 19–70 years.(1,2)

How much calcium is in Ensure Compact?


Each serving of Ensure Compact contains 213 mg of calcium. This is 20–21% of the recommended dietary intake of calcium for men and women aged 19–50 years. (1,2)

The Australian Dietary Guidelines recommend adults consume 2.5-4 serves of calcium-rich foods – milk, yoghurt, cheese and/or alternatives (mostly reduced fat) – each day.(3) These foods are high in calcium and are also a rich source of protein, vitamins and other minerals.(3)
