Presenter Information
Lina Breik - Founder of Tube Dietitian and an Advanced Accredited Practising Dietitian with 15 years of clinical nutrition hospital experience in tube feeding. Lina has a particular passion for helping those with a disability and a feeding tube to nourish their bodies to optimise their wellbeing and independence. She is currently doing a PhD at Monash University on home feeding tube and serves on the Board of Directors at Dietitians Australia.
Juliette McAleer - Tube-fed mum, triathlete, and PhD candidate researching the psychosocial impact of navigating tube-fed life in a food-centric world. A firm believer in the power of story-telling, Juliette draws upon her lived-experience of parenteral and enteral tube-feeding to foster greater community awareness of home tube-feeding and to challenge societal and systemic barriers that can needlessly complicate tube-fuelled lives. She emphasises that tube-feeding is just one method of nourishment - one that neither defines, nor inherently limits our incredible human potential.
Katy Fishlock - Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics (Honours) student at UOW due to graduate April 2025. After becoming unwell late 2023, Katy has lived experience living with tube feeding, requiring an NJ tube for 12 months before she transitioned to a surgical jejunostomy tube in November 2024. Katy is also keen to foster greater community awareness of tube-feeding within her student and dietitian networks.
